We appear to have resolved this issue by ensuring that all guest VM's were using the vmxnet3 drivers. Originally the guest missing the 4 bytes was using an e1000 driver and the other guest was using vmxnet3 - after we changed the e1000 guest to vmxnet3 we no longer are experiencing this issue when using jumbo frames. I have not yet attempted to 'downgrade' the driver back to e1000 to see if the issue re-appears.

Been like that for years, haven't been able to build objects and pass them around. And doesn't stringify break on custom methods (too lazy to test, just remembering)? Would be good to see that capability. Lot easier to use custom objects as code logic vs doing properties object parsing.

You'll have to wrap it in an eval block and just look for that particular error, nothing too fancy you can do. Even with a tight API loop where you update the view on the ESXi host right before the EnterMaintenanceMode_Task(), you could still hit that condition. Depending on your scenario, you might want to catch that runtime error and peek into the tasks related to that ESXi host to see if any of them are EnterMaintenanceMode_Task(). If so, then you can track that task process vs creating a new one.

I am current VCP and looking to renew pretty soon. So my question is, does passing ONE VCAP exam recertify or it requires both exams (full vcap certification to receritfy)?

Where are you trying to enter the group name? If you are in Business or Fabric groups as long as you enter the group name as group@local.com (whatever the proper domain is) and then click okay at the bottom of the screen which saves the information then it should be fine because the search button will not work for groups. Can you find regular users?

Any way to get # of machines built as a custom property variable?
During vCAC build, the user has the option to select multiple machines. Is there a way to grab this number in a variable via custom properties? If so I don't see it.

Clustering advice
Hi forum, just looking for peoples input here.
I am looking at adding my 3 hosts ESXI5.5 hosts into a single cluster. I currently have DAS for each host and the hosts run the virtual machines on the DAS inside them. Currently i only have the Essentials licensing until i can persuade the powers that be to let me upgrade to Essentials + so i can implement vMotion and HA etc.
For some reason, when i created my cluster it allowed me to configure HA and DRS and give the appearance that it was working, even though my licences are not sufficient.
So my question is this:
"If i put all 3 of my hosts into a single DRS & HA enabled cluster without the essentials + licensing will it have any detrimental effect on the running VM's?"
I'm guessing as the features are not licensed the products, although appearing to be configurable just won't work or do anything. Which leads onto my next question:
"If the licences are not applied and i don't have shared storage will fully automated DRS actually work and do anything?"
I have just recently really got my teeth into trying to understand VMWare and i am chomping at the bit to do this and i am 99% sure it will be fine for me to have all 3 hosts in my cluster with no detrimental effects (Just to satisfy my curiosity!) until i can get the Essentials + license and then i can configure vMotion for DAS and HA etc after assinging the licenses to the hosts.
Any advice welcome.

Conflict VMware Player and MS KB2995388 update
10月のMicrosoft定例アップデートを行ったところ VMware Playerが添付のメモリー不足メッセージを出して起動しなくなった。オプションの KB2995388 が原因のようでこれをアンインストールしたら VMware Player は正常起動する事を確認。但し、２台のＰＣ@Windows8.1 中１台はKB2995388 をインストールしても正常に起動する。

Well...then I would disable it there too to try. I heard that if you have it on in your main OS and not on the Virtual it conflicts?
If it works keep it off and if not turn it on again and check the other postings since there may be a network sharing issue or some other.

VPLEX Luns and Round Robin does this look right?

Any single VCAP on your track will do it. If you're a VCP5-DCV, either VCAP5-DCA or VCAP5-DCD will recertify you.
